Smoking

April 13th, 2011

It appears to now have been close to a couple of years since I first purchased a Green Smoke Electronic Cigarette.  I placed the orignial order in September of 2009.  I used it kinda sorta for a day and then put it in my desk and didn’t touch it again.  During this time period I continued to smoke regular cigarettes.

Now in 2011 and with cigarette prices at record highs I have actually started to inject my own cigarettes (roll my own).  This is a very economical approach to smoking, but in reality smoking is bad and I should quit.  Should, but doesn’t mean that I have put the effort into it.  Not in a while that is.  I did quit about 5 years ago for a period of around 4 months, but then started again.  I know, bad bad… but that is life.

Now I mentioned the Green Smoke electronic cigarette.  So the other night I pulled it out of my desk, started charging the batteries and decided I would put some real effort into transitioning from tobacco to using the E-Cig.  Today was my first full day of using it and I can say I have definitely smoked a lot less real cigarettes than I normally do.

To put things into perspective on any given day I smoke atleast 2 packs of cigarettes (40 cigarettes) and sometimes more.  Today I have smoked less than a single pack (20) of cigarettes.  In fact I would say I have actually smoked less around half a pack.  This to me is actually quite amazing.  I have to say I’ve been vaping (the term for using the E-Cig) a lot during the whole day, but isn’t that the point?

This actually has me thinking I may be able to fully transition to the E-Cig and move away from real tobacco completely.  I’m going to for once actually be positive about this.

This is day 1 and I smoked less than a pack.  I will post tomorrows results.  Tomorrow I’m going to try and actually keep track of the actual number of real cigarettes that I smoke.
